People really out here in the corp bragging about their 20 page long RFC document that they wrote with Claude that actually could have been 1 page of bullet points.

More "boring" service providers who are content with a modest profit margin and slow organic growth, please. I don't even care if the UI looks "dated" and new features take a long time to be built. Traditional boring bare metal, only add new customers when you have capacity to support it, whatever.

A company of 50+ year old tech veterans who have been laid off and left behind from age discrimination just looking to keep the bills paid until retirement.

Run it like a co-op, like a little credit union that isn't looking to expand quickly, just serve their little niche of the community.

Periodic reminder: EVERYONE. Even very smart people. Even people who work in security. Even people who work with account phishing. Even you. EVERYONE can fall for a scam.

The more strongly you believe you could never fall for a scam, the worse you're going to get fucked when one slips past your defenses. Scammers LOVE people who think they're too smart to be caught.

Never shame someone for getting caught by one - be understanding and helpful and supportive. Because you're going to be in that seat someday.

Narrowly dodged a phone scammer trying to pretend to be the fraud department of a bank I don't bank at. It sent up several red flags but I was also out at the grocery store and they did all the standard stuff about how someone is trying to take money out of your account and on and on. Eventually I was frustrated with them and said I'm just going to call the fraud department of my bank, goodbye.

Called my bank, they confirmed nothing at all was wrong with my account...

Oh and they'd spoofed Chase bank's caller ID too.

Fuck these guys.
