I love how Chip Zdarsky does a good job of taking the comic book reality we read in these issues and bringing the real world into it.

Avengers Armageddon #HorizonLabs

Three comic panels. A diner owner(Jimmy) looking a bit beat up, says "...but I'm down a waitress!" Peter Parker, sitting at the dinner counter getting a cup of coffee. replies "Oh yeah. Where's Anya?" "Peter... She's..." Next panel, Jimmy says, "She's Russian, yeah? Had a nephew working up where... ...you know... Gave her the week off." The last panel is just Peter looking at his coffee.
