Finally able to start hosting jellyfin for a few friends. The setup is jank as hell but it mostly works now. I thought it would be a downgrade from plex but its an upgrade after the recent updates. I had to learn how to build a server and navigate dns hell to get here but it was worth it lol. With even garbage tier hardware jellyfin basically does any media you can throw at it now. Im impressed with how well it works aside from setting up external connections. There are a million different opinions on how to get this to work and i tried a ton of different one and frankly none of them were great. If they make a simple way to integrate a custom domain and whatever else you need for https then i think it would be one of the best pieces of software ive ever used lol
