Just trying to stay positive. You guys give me good reason. Still hard to do in this type of world though.

@ErickaSimone It's okay if sometimes you can't be. I find that giving myself permission to wallow in the reality of the bad for a set period of time (usually minutes, an hour tops per session) makes it easier to return to the positive.

Being relentlessly positive is exhausting. Especially when a wider situation is not positive.

@ErickaSimone It's very hard not to stay 'calm' or 'positive' when I'm constantly surrounded by bullshit, and will continue to get invaded by said bullshit as time goes on.
And the audacity of some people to believe that it's MY FAULT for being so depressed and anxious. They think I should look to the 'positive' side of life (that side has been fleeting from my existence).

@intelgraphy I don’t think you’re depressed at all. I think it’s just extreme realism. I’ve said this before with repeated therapists. I think we’re not delusional and looking at this pathetic and evil world for what it is. And if the average person had any real intelligence, they would be disgusted by it too.

@ErickaSimone @intelgraphy For sure. I also think you should just prioritise your self 1st and foremost, and in a way learn to dissociate from the world a little. That's what I do and it seems to be a fairly good strategy. I make music, shitpost on here to hopefully make some fokes laugh, etc, kind of just do my own thing and focus on what matters around me. I think one thing the internet definitely made worse than it ever was before is the stream of negativity you get on a daily basis, weather from news, social media, etc, and I think more than anything this is what destroys loads of people, so sometimes you just gotta take a break. When I was 16 I was laughed at a bit for saying that I don't follow the news, people were saying something like "yeah but then you're uninformed!" And to that I say, sure. I might not know everything that's going on around the world, but at the very least I'm not constantly feeding my self content which will make me rage and be depressed. And when I do need to learn about a certain issue, I'll look in to it properly

@Mudb0y @intelgraphy yeah my brain won’t allow me to operate like that. I understand keeping and protecting your joy, but it’s not real joy when the world is suffering like this. All the gotdamn time.

I see your vision tho.
