Was walking along an elevated walkway above a beautiful but swampy trail area & noticed this green vine on the edge of the platform that had managed to climb ~15 ft from the ground. Id apps suggest it is oneseed bur cucumber aka star cucumber (Sicyos angulatus). A native to Eastern NA & a new species to me.

Photograph of twisted and coiled (likely) star cucumber vine tendril that has wrapped around a gray post with out of focus green foliage in the background. The coiled tendril is in the right and is in sharp focus and the post is along the edge of the left frame and is out of focus. Closeup photograph of a (likely) star cucumber flower with out of focus flowers, green foliage, and vague grays in the background. This species has five-pointed petals radiating from a center filled with stamens and pistil creating a star shaped flower. The petals are pale green with darker green veining, and the stamen are green with pale green-yellow anthers. Photograph of a (likely) star cucumber vine with an out of focus gray post and green foliage in the background. The post is in the far-right frame and has vine tendrils wrapped around it. The vine extends from the lower left frame to the far-right frame. There are small star cucumber flowers attached to the larger vine along with large green leaves near the center frame and loosely coiled tendrils projecting from main vine in the right frame.
