after a lot of back-and-forth with JLC about some consigned/hard to get parts, the batch of classic MNT Reform mainboards, also used for MNT Station @ Crowd Supply, finally really entered production and is expected to ship to us on November 7th, so approx. in a week. Thanks for your patience and sorry that this took _forever_.

BTW there is some progress on suspend on RK3588. sigrid and josch (and some others) on the mnt-reform IRC channel have s2idle working. for me it almost works, but my NVMe doesn't come up properly after resume. it seems like this can be solved soon though.

here's a quick video i made today of testing several applications on the MNT Quasar 8750, the highest-end of the three Quasar processor module variants: youtube.com/watch?v=9Kk-fdTLBMQ

uff i just shot some video on the trusty lumix dmc-gh4 on a new sd card, and all four .mp4 files were broken. luckily someone wrote the tool "untrunc" that was able to recover the files given an example (working) .mp4 from the same camera (which i had) github.com/anthwlock/untrunc

found workarounds for 2 major issues on cq8750s:
- gpu (adreno a830) would hang/crash after a few minutes of use, pretty randomly, when GMU is sending the GPU_SET OOB message. this is already a familiar problem to me, but on this platform the cause that i found is pm_autosuspend of the GPU itself. setting the delay to -1 (off) makes the crashes go away and stabilizes the desktop.
- cpu had strangely low performance even at 4GHz. cpuidle=off quadruples the performance!

@modzero @bignose python is fine but way too programmery already. what i have in mind would be less strict in terms of syntax, and higher level constructs to begin with. more like vuejs or tcl/tk but with very little technical syntax

are there any interesting new(ish) very-high-level "easy" programming languages that simplify generic application development for non-developers? i.e. what people would use now (aside from excel) to make their own apps/tools if LLMs hadn't happened

@nintegge the access/opaque part. lets take macintosh or ipad for example (i'm an ex-apple user from like 10 years ago). these were designed to be easy and accessible computers, and successfully so. or if you mean application development, there is a long history of "easy" tools like hypercard, scala (on the amiga), excel, visual basic, access, filemaker. google docs. or remember people messing with myspace and tumblr. website builders and no-code tools. why are these suddenly no good?
