@confusomu it's two controllers glued together somehow, you have to toggle between them with E1/E2 instead of single E line
ok so the controller chip is much more limited than i feared, we can only customize 8 characters it seems. so that would have to be replace by fpga perhaps. or i'll try eink next...

tried to drive this 4x40 tfn lcd display with glasgow interface explorer and the gpio applet and some python, works!
@khm @MLE_online matter of taste and expectations i guess. i'd say it's one of the least awful MCU things, along with maybe jessica jones? there are also a bunch of very similar plot points as in Alias, but it's more wholesome than alias
