We’re at the point where you can hand ChatGPT an unknown iOS rootfs archive and it will get it booting in an emulator in half an hour. All those dumped prototype or internal iPhone firmwares you see everywhere can now be explored live. From a preservation perspective, this is very exciting
Apple has done some very smart things with some of its tiny AppKit controls when used via touch: they expand into a popup when interacted with. Think Music’s drag-and-hold volume slider, but for steppers and other micro buttons. I might even investigate this solution for some of the controls in Coppice for iPad
