Male supremacy culture is at the absolute core of evrything that is toxic and devouring.

Great Man culture only ever works for the elite great men. Everything else gets destroyed. It's inevitable.

We are taught non-stop to sneer at the committee and idoloze the Steve Jobs asshole. But if anything will save us, it will be the committee.

RE: floss.social/@josch/1175093328

I think the middle ground "maybe LLMs" choice was quietly, secretly rooted in a hidden contempt for other people's work, particularly anyone "not technical". No LLMs for code, we'd never use LLMs for something that important obviously, but for _documentation_ sure. For _graphics_, for _art_, obviously. Those things aren't _code_, you see, they're not _important_.

But, it turns out they are important. And they make it clear who and what you're willing to sacrifice, so you can feel important.

@emma @be Indeed I was afraid of this to happen when the GR got discussed. There were many people whom I highly respect (and still highly respect) who were convinced that there were indeed roughly 3 choices: "no LLMs", "maybe LLMs" and "always LLMs". Unfortunately, those who said that the "maybe LLMs" choice was the same as the "always LLM" choice seem to be receiving evidence that they might've been right all along and in fact there were only 2 choices... @cwebber

I turned in my ballot weeks ago and so far nobody with a filled circle next to their name has disappointed me. If anything I've been more impressed with our statehouse candidates as the race comes to a close.

An online bet on Stacy Garrity winning the race for Pennsylvania Governor is paying out 31.2 to 1 right now, giving her about a 3% chance of victory.

@heidilifeldman I'm disturbed by the number of otherwise sensible people whose reaction is "screw Comey; his ineptitude cost Clinton the presidency".

This isn't about "karmic justice for Comey", it's about LEGAL justice for everyone, not to mention scaring future Comeys into submission.

This is the first house I've owned that was built less than fifty years before I purchased it, so the first time in my life as a homeowner that I'm dealing with "builder grade" materials and installations. I joked with my dad the other day that every time I replace a fixture the average quality goes up. Even just scraping the sprayed primer out of the junction boxes so you can tell the difference between the white and black wires leaves it better for the next owner.
