In other news, my new toy, the M-VAVE FM-1, arrived today so this evening will be spent with playing with different open source firmwares [1] for this synth. Below €60 and allows for open hacking. What is not to like?

Short update on my M-VAVE FM-1: Ordered a second one. The one I have is now running the JIANT [1] Firmware. It's a generative groove box/synthesizer combo that sometimes creates surprisingly good results :) The second one is needed to do some droning :)

If you want to play with it for yourself: Open the emulator at [1]. With the select button, go to page 5, use knob 1 to select a music style, use knob 2 to select a seed. Press Oct+1 and a new song is being generated. Press the play button. Don't like it? Switch to a different seed or style and press Oct+1 again. Have fun!

@Mudb0y It is good enough to be used as background muzak for vlog posts, in my opinion. Which is quite a feat. And all of this with GPLv3 licensed firmware on a €60 device. Call me impressed :)
