The connection was lost. Trying to connect again.
In other news, my new toy, the M-VAVE FM-1, arrived today so this evening will be spent with playing with different open source firmwares [1] for this synth. Below €60 and allows for open hacking. What is not to like?

Short update on my M-VAVE FM-1: Ordered a second one. The one I have is now running the JIANT [1] Firmware. It's a generative groove box/synthesizer combo that sometimes creates surprisingly good results :) The second one is needed to do some droning :)

Another funny little tune that JIANT created for me.

If you want to play with it for yourself: Open the emulator at [1]. With the select button, go to page 5, use knob 1 to select a music style, use knob 2 to select a seed. Press Oct+1 and a new song is being generated. Press the play button. Don't like it? Switch to a different seed or style and press Oct+1 again. Have fun!

It’s so much fun to just go out, sit down, put the AKGs on and jam away :) And before you “yes, but” ;) The Jaint firmware is GPLv3 licensed, the source code is at https://github.com/juanjiant-bit/JIANT

Oh, and now you can take the various firmwares for the M-VAVE FM-1 und run them standalone as VST Plugin in your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)! This is making audio production accessible in new ways to people with low or no budget. Fascinating! https://thefirmwarehub.com/convert/

FM-1 firmwares as VST in your DAW – VIBE FM VST
Picked FM-1 firmwares, converted from their source – unchanged – into one VIBE FM file: a VST3 / AU / CLAP plugin, the browser, the VIBE FM. Coming soon.
Another little generated tune (only the first minute) from my FM-1 running Jiant. DeepHouse0072 :)
UPDATE: Replaced with a 5:47 version of the song.
@jwildeboer It's so little!
@thestrangelet A Korg Volca is simiilar in size ;)
@jwildeboer this absolutely slaps
@Mudb0y It is good enough to be used as background muzak for vlog posts, in my opinion. Which is quite a feat. And all of this with GPLv3 licensed firmware on a €60 device. Call me impressed :)
