After all those years, I think these are all lies ;)

"Trust but verify" means that after reading an interesting article, I actually get the research papers mentioned and at least gloss them over myself. It is depressing to see how often articles prefer clickbait and exaggerations over what the paper really states. This often causes collateral damage as the misquoted author(s) of the paper now have to defend themselves against these wrong conclusions. Le sigh.

I am from the countryside. I live in the big city. But I cannot resist the urge to put my hands in such beautiful, fertile ground and smell the petrichor aroma every now and then. It always grounds me (pun intended :)

For the elders of the internet, like me, a helpful list of translations:

Every technology is dual use. Good, bad — it is often a scale. A sarcastic look can help to avoid getting locked in to a binary view.

I prefer honesty and transparency over FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) and dogmatism.

So my position on "AI" in coding is reflective of that. I personally don't see value in using LLMs for my coding or anything else. I have stated that quite a few times.

HOWEVER, I also accept projects or people using LLMs. But they must be honest and transparent about it. When they try to hide the use of LLMs, that is a red flag.

Be honest. Be transparent. Be consistent. And always: be respectful.

Vor einiger Zeit hat @heiseonline selbst veröffentlicht, dass aus dem #Fediverse längst mehr Zugriffe auf die Webseiten von Heise stattfinden als von den BigTech-Plattformen. Warum Heise dann mit #WSocial eine Medienpartnerschaft eingeht und den Quatsch von fehlenden europäischen Plattformen nachplappert, obwohl bei WSocial genau nix los ist und deren Geschäftsmodell sowie Datenschutz so extrem zweifelhaft sind? Es ist frustrierend.

Wenn die "Brand & Culture"-Beauftragte von @heiseonline so einen Bullshit raushaut und sich auf einem Fake Award fuer die Medienpartnerschaft mit #Wsocial feiert, dann muss die Konsequenz fuer mich sein, saemtliche Akivitaeten mit #Heise und Co einzustellen.

Am I the first person ever to run a Bourne shell on a Commodore 64 I wonder.

A 1MHz 6502 sucks at disk I/O, sucks at copying memory and sucks at running C code, especially when the C code has to be optimized for space not speed. But it works.

I have plans for REU support which I think will make it much much faster assuming i can get away with a few tricks and the timing doesn't break anything.

While many in media and politics ask who will emerge as new leader in Serbia, I hope the more or less leaderless organisation that won the election sticks to that principle. Have a few spokespersons, yes, but don't fall into the trap of infighting over ego when you could cooperatively build something very different and better :) Go, Serbia, go!
