Two cute mushrooms from today's walk. Step softly, friends.

A pale mycena mushroom raises a frilled cap against the rain. A damp mycena reaches up from the first floor upon a delicate stalk.

Another beautiful autumn afternoon. 🚴🏽‍♂️🌾🌞

#BikeTooter #autumn #nature #Colorado

A wide gravel path — lined with tall trees shedding their golden-brown leaves — stretches into the distance on the right side of the photo. The path is littered with dried leaves and has patterns of light and shadow from the afternoon sun shining through the trees. Scenic mountains in the far background under mostly blue skies are partially visible through breaks in the trees. A low, split-rail, wooden fence in the near foreground runs alongside a bike path, separating an open meadow with a few tall, autumn-colored trees from the path. There are a few black cows scattered in the scrubby, dry-grass meadow, either lying about or quietly grazing on a mostly sunny afternoon. A few tall, skinny trees with golden-brown leaves standing by themselves in wide open space next to a gravel bike path, with a tiny-looking mountain bike propped against the base of one of the trees. There are more autumn-colored trees in the middle distance and a line of scenic mountains in the far background under mostly sunny skies painted with a few wispy, feathery cirrus clouds. A stand of very tall, mature cottonwood trees in an open space meadow dotted with smaller trees and scrubby vegetation, the leaves of the cottonwoods glowing golden-brown in the angled afternoon sun, with mostly blue skies in the background behind the trees.

Kendal Town Hall. The 1861 clock does some fairly excitable chiming, playing a different tune for each day of the week on ten bells.

Victorian building with a large Ionic order loggia on the first floor with a pediment above on its western i.e. front elevation. There is a clock tower with a narrow dome.

My rook buddy for #Birbsday. What a looker, right? This one hangs back on the fence when I come with the nuts. Then it spends so much time trying to chase the jackdaws away, that it often misses out on everything. It's quite fun to watch. I always throw an extra handful, though. 😊

Having seen some beautiful corvids recently from @knighterrant255, @olim@pixelfed.de, and @webidebi@mastodon.social, I thought today was a good day to jump in.

omg they are SO FLUFFY 🥹

A white floofy moth, an Artace cribrarius, with tiny black speckles on its wings rests head-down on the keypad of an electronic parcel locker between the three and enter buttons. The moth is extravagantly floofy. A snowflake manifested as a muppet in the mortal realm.

Had some lovely zinnia varieties this year including this yellow peppermint.

#flowers #gardening #BloomScrolling #nature #photography #AltText

Photograph of a zinnia flower with out of focus green foliage in the background. The view is looking down on the center of the top of the zinnia which is in the right frame. Zinnias have large blooms that top long, stiff stems with large leaves. The flower opens from the outside is made up of overlapping layers of petals that radiate from a center filled with florets. This variety of zinnia has yellow petals covered in splotches of cardinal red with gold and pale-yellow florets. The red splotches look similar to peppermint red stripes and make the petals look candied.

it is never appropriate to write "i asked an llm and this is what it said:"

either the listener uses llms, in which case they can use an llm on their side, or they don't want to use llms, in which case inflicting llm text on them is rude and inconsiderate

A little yellow daylily sunrise to get your morning going?

#flowers #BloomScrolling #gardening #nature #photography #AltText

Closeup photograph of a daylily surrounded by other daylilies with green and yellow buds visible in the far-right frame. The view is looking directly at the flower's face. This variety of daylily has three yellow sepals with yellow midribs under three yellow petals with yellow midribs that form a wide trumpet shape around the flower's center. The midribs are textured ridges that run down the center of each sepal and petal, and the sepals and petals are offset creating a six-pointed star. In the flower's center are six yellow stamens with brown anthers and a yellow pistil, both of which extend from the flower's interior and end just short of the largest petals.

Decent fog this morning, I'd give it a solid 8/10.
