A placid ocean at sunset, with small waves calmly rolling in. The sky has shades of peach, yellow, orange and reddish gray all around the sun. The Sun itself is sinking into a cloud layer just above the horizon, so its top half is yellow, and the bottom half is faded orange, with that dividing line being slightly curved downward, making the Sun appear really spherical. The sunlight is creating a faint wide ‘V’ shape above the Sun, where the clouds are slightly brighter. The water is a blue-gray scattered with darker shadows, except for closer in, where it is lighter blueish gray with the tiny waves churning near the shore. Some scattered parts of the water also catch and reflect the reddish tones from above. Most closely in, a shore of wet sand is reflecting pink and orange in a softly shiny strip. It’s all very symmetrical, seeming more like a painting than a photo.

This is a commissioned art piece. It is by Daniel Valero, entitled "20 Petal Flower". It was created in two Studios located in Mexico and Brooklyn. There will be an altar on the bottom for the public to place items for their loved ones. It also will light up at night. Color photo taken of a colorful sculpture created for Dia de los Muertos. It has about a 6 foot base that's 3 feet high painted bright pink with some light pink geometric designs. The designs almost look like two arms reaching around and in the middle it looks like a stem with a straight line and three dots on it representing leaves. Above that is a triangle of flowers, all of the flowers are large round flowers with 10 bright orange petals and a yellow center with yellow strings coming out of the middle. There are four on the bottom, then three, then two and one forming the triangle. In the background are the buildings of Nomad (north of Madison, basically 23rd to 34th St around Broadway)

Was walking along an elevated walkway above a beautiful but swampy trail area & noticed this green vine on the edge of the platform that had managed to climb ~15 ft from the ground. Id apps suggest it is oneseed bur cucumber aka star cucumber (Sicyos angulatus). A native to Eastern NA & a new species to me.

Looking through a bridge arch. This is the arch of the single span Cowen Park Bridge in Seattle. The photo is from slightly above the foundation, with both sides of the arch forming an ellipsoid framing for the autumn hued trees on the other side. A leaf covered trail leads between the legs of the arch. Its gray concrete looks a bit weathered. The colors were processed in a faded vintage style, to emphasize the lines of the arch. Wikipedia :" The bridge was built in 1936 under the authority of the Works Progress Administration. The bridge engineer was Clark Eldridge.[1] The structure is listed in the National Register of Historic Places,[2] and it is a designated city landmark.[3] The bridge has been praised for the 12 ft (3.7 m) Art Deco light standards along its sides.[4]" The bridge has been retrofitted to resist earthquakes.
