A tiny yellow maple leaf in the palm of my hand. The Cherokee reads: ulagohvsdi which means autumn.

#SilentSunday

A young tree, possibly a beech, with bright yellow leaves. It is about 20 feet high and was planted next to a running trail made of dry, compacted, dirt in a park here in Toronto. The overhead sky is bright blue which complements its leaves beautifully. You can see a few skyscrapers in the distance as well as several larger trees that are still almost completely green. The leaves at the top branches of the tree are sparse because many have begun to fall, but the middle and bottom of the tree are still numerous.

And darkness crept into the late afternoon. Time to find the joy in earlier sunsets, moonbeams, and starshine.

Twilight at the beach, the sea oats silhouetted against the sun reaching for the horizon behind a sea of clouds, creating a golden aura in the center of the photo (2026).

Macro photograph of the tip of a dried, brown liatris spike in the sun, resembling a tiny dried flower with holes in the centre surrounded by cream petals and streaked with lines, in the middle of the reddish-brown hairs of the spike, dotted with drops of water. The "flower" gives the impression of having put on her fur coat.

A brook that runs through my yard is lit up with light as the sun is directly overhead. The water is low as it winds its way to the camera. The bed of tree brook is mostly rocks with many of them sticking above water with moss on them. The banks of the brook are covered with autumn leaves.

A line of trees in a park, with deep dark red (oak) and orange (maple) leaves, some still in the trees, and lots on the ground. The bright leaves of early autumn are gone, and now it's the dark burnt colors that remain.

Two large maple trees, both bright orange and glowing in the afternoon sun. There's an old one lane road beside them, and a cable fence in the foreground. Bright blue sky above.

You see a path in the autumn woods that leads to a wooden bridge over a stream. The path is covered in leaves from the yellow, red and orange trees surrounding it. The bridge is an entry point to a magical realm. Or something like that.

What has Darth Vader just found out? 🤔

Okay, panel 3 of 4 on the blanket project is finished and ready to be attached to the other 2. Deep breath, I'm almost finished, one panel left....

A panel of knitted fabric: bands of red, yellow, orange, and deep forest green, lying on a light blue bedspread.

Welcoming the harvest, land, and ancestors. May we take care of each other through the darker half of the year.

And now we enter into All Hallow’s Eve, and thin is the veil between worlds.

A sky with clouds at sunset. The clouds are in horizontal layers, shades of amber, gold, purple, and reddish colors. A few thin strips of faded light blue at the top, and a line of dim bulbous charcoal gray clouds at the bottom.

I'm probably going to bore people with hummingbird pictures, but I just can't help myself.
